At an international level, there is an increased interest for documentary filmmaking, manifested in the constant increase of the number of television channels that are dedicated exclusively to this genre of film, and also the increse of the interest for non-fiction media productions that are distributed through various digital platforms. Capitalizing on five years of experience we acumulated by offering a learning module oriented towards non-fiction media production, we adapted the curricula in order to create a solid program oriented towards documentary filmmaking, in the spirit of promoting and preserving the specific values of the classical cinema.
The program is addressed both to the young graduates of film and media programs, passioned for non-fiction film and audiovisual production, and for the experienced specialists from television or production companies that wish to further their formal media eduction.
The methodology of teaching has been adapted to address the specific interest and demand on the job market of the media industry, and the complex life situation of most of the mature students we wish to address. Thus, we are offering a program that combines face to face courses with blended learning and practical, intensive, production workshops. Next to the higly qualified faculty members from our faculty and the partner Hungarian and German universities, the students will have the opportunity to meet and interact with specialists from the industry during documentary film festivals, custom workshops, pitching sessions or theoretical courses. They will also have the opportunity of studying abroad, as part of Erasmus exchanges with other universities and media entities.
